Day 43 of a year of Kindness
I rested. It snowed outside and I worked all day in my pajamas. I had a terrible headache, which could have been from the three glasses of wine I drank last night. I took a noon nap. I tend to feel guilty about resting so when that happens, I turn to Tricia Hersey, founder of the Nap Ministry, for inspiration. She sees rest as a revolutionary way to push back on America’s obsession with productivity and grind culture. I applaud her passion for resting. She reminds me to be kind to myself when I need a nap.

Science of kindness: Resting can be revolutionary and it can also be great way to be kind to your mind and body. Taking the time to rest increases energy levels and productivity, lowers stress and anxiety, improves mood, decreases blood pressure, offers chronic pain relief and improves immune health and life satisfaction. hashtag#thenapministry hashtag#kindnessmatters hashtag#kindness
