Day 78 of a year of Kindness

A friend invited me for dinner. I brought her some sunflowers but she couldn’t keep them because of her animals. So, we decided to see if her neighbor, Karen, wanted them. My friend, Vicky, bakes a lot and shares the extras with her neighbor. They meet outside at their adjoining fence for the baked goods hand-off. Tonight, Vicky texted Karen to see if she could meet her at the fence. She handed her flowers instead of blueberry muffins. It made her very happy, which made us happy.

Science of kindness: Studies show that receiving flowers has an immediate impact on happiness. Flowers also have a long-term positive effect on moods. One study found that those who received flowers reported feeling less depressed or anxious after getting them. However, you don’t have to wait to get flowers from someone else. Happiness also increases if you buy them for yourself!#kindness #kindnessiscontagious @10kindnessclub #kindnessisfree #flowers #happiness
