Day 72 of a year of Kindness
I got a massage at the end of the day. It reminded me that self-care makes such a tremendous difference. The front desk of the yoga and wellness center had a bowl of affirmations written by local high school students, which I thought was very sweet. Mine was to stay positive! I felt much more positive after my massage.
Science of kindness:A massage is a great self-care option because it lowers cortisol in your body while also releasing serotonin. This hormone neurotransmitter is sometimes called the "happy chemical" because it reduces feelings of depression. By lowering cortisol and increasing serotonin, you're boosting your body's ability to fight off pain, anxiety and feelings of sadness.
