I paid for a blind date. I went to the library to work this afternoon because I can work anywhere, and I love libraries. I noticed that they had created this adorable display where you can have a “blind date” with a wrapped book. All you have to do is pay $1 and take a chance. So, while I was considering taping a dollar to a book, a man stood beside me and asked me if I was going to buy one. I said no but offered to buy him a book. He was so happy. He really wanted a book. The librarians, who knew his name, were also very happy. I turned over my $1, he picked out his book, and I became an official matchmaker.
Science of kindness: It was kind to give him a book because research shows that reading strengthens your brain, increases empathy, reduces stress and builds vocabulary. It also fuels imagination, creativity and innovation. #kindnessmatters #kindness #kindnessiscontagious #publiclibrary #narlib @10kindnessclub
