Day 58 of a year of Kindness
I saw a Facebook post about a young man who lost his grandfather and wanted to connect with older people. In his search, he found an epidemic of loneliness among seniors. So, he founded Love For Our Elders, which sends cards to lonely seniors. So far, his organization has sent more than 750,000 cards. On the website they have a roster of seniors who have been nominated to receive cards. I sent three cards today: A 98-year-old woman in New York, an 81-year-old woman on dialysis in Wisconsin and a widow in an assisted living facility in Kentucky. Thank you Brad Aronson, Author Page
Science of kindness: Research reveals that sending cards to seniors is kind because it brightens their day, combats loneliness, provides emotional support and lets them know they are loved. It also makes the card writer feel good, too. Love For Our Elders #kindness #kindnessiscontagious @10kindnessclub
